Holding fire (Karate Kid movie)? 10 points for best answer!!!!!!?

I watched the new Karate Kid movie with Jackie Chan. In the movie he is able to hold a blue flame in his hands. Is it possible to do this or is it a special effect? I.e. what type of alcohol should I use so that i dont burn myself.
